Partnership announcement
Vertical Realities × Altoura

We have partnered with Altoura, and here is why it matters if you are still on Dynamics 365 Guides.

Microsoft has set an end date for Dynamics 365 Guides and Remote Assist. If your frontline teams rely on either, that is not a distant problem to file away for later. It is a decision you need to start making now, and we want to make sure you make it with the full picture in front of you.

That is why we have partnered with Altoura, an AI powered platform for frontline training and guided work, and one of the small number of providers with a formal co-sell agreement in place with Microsoft's own Dynamics 365 Business Group. We did not choose them because they are the newest name in the market. We chose them because they solve the actual problem in front of you: how to move off a retiring platform without losing what you have already built.

The dates that actually matter

Two dates should be on your radar.

31 December 2026 Dynamics 365 Guides and Remote Assist reach end of support from Microsoft. After that point, the software stops receiving updates or support of any kind.
31 December 2027 HoloLens 2 moves to security and critical fixes only, with no successor device announced. That is effectively the hardware's remaining runway.

Neither date means everything stops working overnight. What it means is that the clock is running on a platform you cannot keep building on indefinitely, and the earlier you plan the move, the less disruptive it will be.

Why we picked Altoura specifically

We are vendor independent, so we do not partner with a platform lightly. Three things made Altoura the right recommendation for organisations in this exact position.

It genuinely migrates your content, it does not make you rebuild it. Inside Altoura's own interface, you select an existing Guide from your Dynamics 365 library and import it directly. The content, steps and structure carry across as a working starting point, not a blank page you have to start filling in from scratch.

Altoura Frontline interface compared to Dynamics 365 Guides

Altoura Frontline is designed to feel familiar to teams already used to Dynamics 365 Guides.

Your Microsoft stack stays exactly where it is. Azure, Teams, Dynamics 365 and Entra ID all continue working alongside Altoura Frontline. This is not a rip and replace project. It sits inside the Microsoft environment you already have, which is a large part of why that co-sell partnership exists in the first place: Microsoft itself points customers toward this route rather than leaving them to work it out alone.

You stop being tied to one headset. Guides content only ever ran on HoloLens. Once it is inside Altoura, the same content also runs on Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, iPad, Android and iOS phones and tablets. Whatever Microsoft or the hardware market does next, your training content is no longer locked to a single device with an uncertain future.

The same content now reaches far more devices than Guides ever could.

What you actually gain, not just what you keep

A migration that only preserves what you already had would be a reasonable outcome on its own. Altoura goes further.

Remote Assist's on call troubleshooting carries over into Altoura Frontline Remote Expert, which adds AI assisted support, spatial annotations while a call is live, and file and desktop sharing on top of what Remote Assist offered. Nothing is lost in the move, and there is more capability on the other side of it than there was before.

Where we come in

A migration plan is only as good as the team that runs it, and that is where our own role starts. We handle the parts that turn "we should probably move off Guides" into a working platform your teams are actually using.

If you are still running Dynamics 365 Guides or Remote Assist, the honest answer is that the decision cannot wait indefinitely. The good news is that the actual work of moving is smaller than it looks from where you are standing now.
